A Great Way To Relax

Life is about making improvements when needed. If I find a habit or an activity that can improve my life, then I will take the time to research it and try it out.

If you’re looking for a new way to improve your life, look no further than getting into a sauna.

I was actually just in one before I started writing this post.

Being in a sauna feels great.

It’s hot and sweaty.

I usually enjoy listening to some of my favorite podcast episodes or just sit in silence.

It’s a great way to just sit, enjoy a book, podcast, or even having some company in there with you.

Here are some of the best benefits of being in a sauna;

Reduces Stress

Saunas help the mind and body adapt to stress, as well helping to reduce the chances of depression and other mental disorders.

For me, saunas are a great way to be in a calm quiet place to just relax for a little bit.

Cleanses The Skin

Sweating actually helps to rinse the bacteria on your skin.

The body is then cleansed and replaces dead skin cells.

Your skin becoming softer is another added benefit of getting in the sauna.

Social Aspect

As I stated above, I enjoy being in a sauna for the quiet relaxed time.

One of the other great parts of using a sauna is the social aspect of it.

If you go to a gym in your town or city that has a sauna, it can be a great way to talk and meet new people in a different environment than normal.

Burns Calories

Getting in a sauna is a great way to burn calories on top of the other benefits that I’ve mentioned.

If you’re looking to burn some more of those calories from Thanksgiving dinner, a sauna is a great way to do it.

Aids In Recovery

After getting a good physical workout in, time in a sauna is one of the best ways to finish off a workout.

The heat starts releasing the tension in the muscles and eliminates lactic acid as well.


These are just some of the general benefits of being in a sauna.

It’s also reported that time in a sauna is supposed to reduce Alzheimer’s and can help fight illness.

I didn’t include a section about those benefits because I didn’t want to make this a medical post.

Not only does a sauna improve your body, but the social and mental aspects of it as well are amazing.

If you’ve never tried a sauna I would highly recommend it. If you have never been in one, start with only 5-10 minutes or a lower temperature.

You will need to get used to the heat and the more time you spend in there, the longer and hotter you can have it.

You will instantly see the improvements in your life.

  1. I do hot tub first at 104 for 20 minutes then sauna 144 for 20 minutes 3 days a week. Other 3 days walk machine in winter 30 minutes.
    A sauna, great Christmas gift.
