Having F.O.C.U.S.

It’s a crazy thing.

Some people have great focus. Dialed in. Getting tasks done and knocking down the barriers of life.

Other people don’t have great focus. All over the place. Trying this and doing that. This might be you.

Having 10 different things to accomplish because feeling busy is better than being productive right?

Focus is essential to crushing any goal you set.

Without focus, you probably have your mind going in a million different ways.

Family, friends, significant other, job, sports team, what to do this weekend, bills, possibly homework, tests, or exams. The list can go on forever.

Bring focus on the situation and it can fix everything.

I made a post a little while back about staying focused and being productive. The post was about taking breaks during your work because, in the end, it makes for more production.

This post is about F.O.C.U.S.

What is F.O.C.U.S.?

What does this mean?

F.O.C.U.S. is being disciplined in the current activity you’re attempting to complete at the moment. I say attempt because this is how it usually goes for most people.

You might have a school or work project to do. Is that the only thing you’re working on?

Or is there 7 different tabs with Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and then maybe a few tabs of the actual project. The phone is probably buzzing from messages and right by your side. TV might be on as well.

These are all just distractions and taking the focus off the main objective.

Going from the project which you’ve been working on for a long time, but should have been done way earlier to social media and then phone and back is just stupid.

Knock that off. Get focused!

The cycle will continue because there is no F.O.C.U.S.

Focus on how to get stuff done without spending hours upon hours doing the same task. I actually made my word of the year F.O.C.U.S. because last year I was all over the place and was not getting anywhere consistently.

I was on so many different paths trying to start a different side hustle and let me tell ya, none of them got very far. I would lose focus on one and then go to the next because it sounded better.

I wasn’t focused.

I have it dialed in on where I’m putting my focus towards.

For example, when I am writing a blog post I have three tabs open.

A tab for WordPress, a timer, and Spotify to play my music.

Other than that, sometimes I may look up a definition of a word, but I keep it to a minimum.

If I had multiple tabs open about different topics, distraction sets in and then I would never get anything done. I would lose my train of thought and get off track. We all know how hard it is to start something again if we lose our focus.

Without F.O.C.U.S., goals will not be met.

F.O.C.U.S. is needed in everything we do.

When we’re at work, focus on getting work done and then if you want to take a break to check your phone, go ahead. Breaks are needed and we can’t work for hours on end without time to reset.

Just remember to Follow One Course Until Successful and goals will be crushed out of the park this year.

Lose the F.O.C.U.S. and it will lead to disappointment. Going down too many paths at the same time is asking for failure.

Get focused on what actually needs to get done and the action you need to take to get there!

Follow One Course Until Successful!

Thanks and Be Great,
